Why I write

This is my first entry for the Trifecta (writing prompt) and for this weekend we had 33 words in which to explain why we write.

Stories appear in my head and suddenly I need a pen in my hand and the tale writing itself on my narrow-lined legal pad. Writing has always felt like it’s who I am.

  1. I used to keep a pen and paper beside my bed and I’d wake up and write in the darkness.
In the morning, it was all hieroglyphics!
For writing to be an extension of one’s being, that’s what it’s all about, for sure.
    Cheers!

  2. That’s perfect. The stories just pop into my head too! It happens with fiction a lot but even with real events, they are fragments of memories until you formulate a story. Well put.
